Sustainability

WPENA’s Sustainability Committee works to support the clean air, clean water, access to parks, access to bike lanes that run all over the city, and habitats that support birds, bees and butterflies, and tackle issues that are important to our beautiful Wash Park neighborhood. Some of the issues our Sustainability Committee is working on include:

  1. Increase residential composting rates through Denver Recycles
  2. Encourage neighbors to create ecosystems in their backyards that are life sustaining for birds, bees and butterflies
  3. Reduce landfill waste caused by residential construction, schools and local events
  4. Examine and address local water Issues in terms of quality and efficiency

If you are interested in joining the committee, which meets monthly, please contact committee chair Adam Meltzer.
