Add Colorado’s CoVid-19 Exposure Notification App to Your Phone Today

Stop the spread in Colorado through statewide Exposure Notifications: Add Your Phone Today:  https://www.addyourphone.com/

What is CO Exposure Notifications?
CO Exposure Notifications is Colorado’s official state COVID-19 exposure alert system. Built in partnership with Apple and Google, this service will quickly notify you if you’ve likely been exposed to COVID-19, allowing you to reduce the risk for your loved ones, seek timely medical advice, and slow the spread in your community.

How does it work?
Exposure Notifications relies on people opting in to the service. When two people have activated Exposure Notifications on their smartphones and come in close proximity to one another, they exchange anonymized “tokens” that log that close interaction for 14 days. If one of those two people tests positive for COVID-19 after that encounter and chooses to enable the exposure notification service, the other individual will receive an alert that they have been exposed to COVID-19. They will be directed to self-quarantine immediately and will be referred to COVID-19 resources.

How will this help Colorado slow the spread of COVID-19?
Awareness and identification are key to stopping the spread of COVID-19. CO Exposure Notifications complement the current testing and case investigation process by alerting individuals of possible exposure to the virus. This is especially helpful for people who are asymptomatic, meaning they don’t have any symptoms but can still spread the virus. When many people have enabled Exposure
Notifications on their phones, people who are asymptomatic will know they should get tested, learn they are positive for COVID-19, and quarantine until they are no longer infectious.

How can someone participate?
Apple users can enable the exposure notifications within their iPhone settings by finding Exposure Notifications, selecting their country and state, and opting in. Android users can download CO Exposure Notifications from the Google Play store and follow a similar process thereafter.
