SURVEY ON DOG PARKS IN OUR AREA NOW OPEN:

UPDATE REGARDING DOG PARKS:

January 2020: Denver Parks & Recreation (DPR) has gone through the first round of dog park proposals and selected Quality Hill Park, Rosedale Park, and Washington Park to move on to Phase II, Community Outreach.

Denver Parks and Recreation wants to hear from our community. Please see the survey below and provide your input:

Tell us what you think about a potential dog park at these sites by taking an online survey! (opens link to DPR’s online survey, also found here https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/XXF9R85).

For more information about the city’s Dog Park Master Plan, read and see the links below.

November 2019

We know many in the neighborhood have been asking about dog parks, so we are pleased to share this Master Plan Technical Update from Denver Parks & Recreation. See below for the update from DPR. Based on our overview, while our neighborhood is identified as a “service gap” this report does not show plans for dog parks near us. At the end of the report is a process for proposing dog parks, should that be of interest to you.

From DPR: Thank you for your interest and involvement in helping Denver Parks and Recreation (DPR) complete the Technical Update to the Dog Park Master Plan.

After reviewing community feedback and evaluating best management practices in dog parks throughout North America, the final plan document, along with the accompanying community-driven pilot process for proposing new dog park locations, are available to the public.

Read the full Dog Park Master Plan Technical Update (Opens PDF: https://www.denvergov.org/…/DPR_DogPark_MasterPlan_Technica…)

As a reminder, the Technical Update is meant to: • Outline the current local and national context for dog parks • Establish a community-driven approach to dog park site selection • Propose new design guidelines that will inform future dog park design • Review and evaluate current maintenance practices • Recommend policies to help the city develop a foundation for well-planned, sustainable dog parks

Learn more, read the full plan, and begin the proposal process: https://www.denvergov.org/…/dog-park-master-plan-update.html
