WPENA has been contacted by the Denver Regional Council of Governments (DRCOG) concerning a program called Citizens’ Academy. This program is open to all residents and will take place in April and May. It is a nationally recognized program which allows participants to learn from local experts and leaders, network with other residents and act on what they’ve learned. Since 2007 more than 800 residents from around the region have completed the academy. It is a great opportunity for emerging leaders interested in learning more about regional issues and developing their civic capacity. Topics covered will include transportation, economic vitality, housing, civic engagement and more. If you are interested in increasing your knowledge of regional issues and enhancing your civic leadership skill, DRCOG will be
accepting applications for the Spring 2019 session from February 1 until March 8. The free seven week academy will be held from April 4 – May 16. Learn more and apply here: https://drcog.org/programs/citizens-academy.
