Wow, this year went quickly! And we have LOTS of new neighbors. Help us spread the word about our Washington Park East Neighborhood Association and help support our programs with your MEMBERSHIP. This is our end-of-year Membership Drive. It’s time to renew yours…or join if you’re not yet a member! WPENA fosters a spirit of community, provides a forum for discussion of issues and works to enhance the character and value of our neighborhood and our quality of life. With membership at only $20 per year per household ($10 for senior households) your participation strengthens our neighborhood association and makes Washington Park East a better place to live. WPENA activities include monthly meetings, quarterly newsletters and email blasts with activities, neighborhood news and crime and safety information, maintenance of our WPENA website and Facebook page, review of zoning issues with results reported to the Board of Adjustments, quarterly Happy Hours in the neighborhood and our popular NEIGHBORHOOD NIGHT OUT where you get the chance to mingle with other neighbors.
We will also post information on the Jiminy Wicket Croquet in the spring, the Fourth of July Celebration in Washington Park and our neighborhood-wide yard sale the first Saturday in August. WPENA partners with our neighborhood schools, Steele Elementary and South High and participates in the Inter-Neighborhood Cooperation, whose mission is to advocate for Denver citizens by bringing together, informing and empowering Denver neighborhood organizations to actively engage in addressing City issues.
And, we NEED NEW BOARD MEMBERS. Consider becoming a member of our Board. Your commitment can be as little as one meeting a month, or active participation on any of our committees and involvement with City services including the City’s Community, Planning and Development (Zoning), local Police meetings, Neighborhood Activities, Membership and interaction with other Neighborhood Organizations.
